Dr. Johnny Issa Age // 33 Location // Portland, Oregon School // W. P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University Degree // MBA Current Job // Senior Process Engineer, Intel Choosing a Program // I always travel for work and rarely spend much time in any one location, so the ibility and scheduling of program really appealed to me. The program is structured so that you take just one class at a time for six weeks, then have a week then take another class. The quality of the program also was important to me. During my research, I noticed that ASU had one of the highly ranked MBA programs. The school has great professors and a well-structured program. // The and understanding of the professors was really helpful. In December of 2009, I had to relocate for work and drive fom Oregon to Arizona. That same week, I had to take a exam for my managerial accounting class. My professor was kind enough to give me special permission to take the exam a bit earlier than the rest of the class. I also thought that the four-day oncampus orientation at the start of the program was useful. It a great way to get to know the people be working with over the next two years. The Best Part // Within two months of starting the MBA program, I was able to apply lessons learned fom the organizational behavior class to my negotiations and interactions with co-workers and vendors fom countries and cultural backgrounds. Going forward, there are opportunities to network with fellow W. P. Carey School MBA grads through an ASU Facebook network. There also are online bulletin boards where alumni are encouraged to share interesting articles and post suitable job openings. Advice // Study the recommended reading assignments carefully. You can skim the references or additional reading if you must, but make sure that you thoroughly understand all the concepts in the main reading assignments if you want to get the most fom your program. //
