THE DELTA EXPERIENCE
BOARDING PA SS
flashy Lower Broadway street is a go-to tourist destination for honkytonk, but deep history to be found off the beaten strip. Stroll through
Centennial Park, stopping at the full-scale replica of the ancient Parthenon,
which doubles as the art museum, featuring paintings by 19th- and 20thcentury American artists, as well as Greek goddess gilded statue. Head north for
lunch at Hot Chicken Shack, the no-frills spot said to have pioneered hot chicken.
Take the grand tour of the historical Hermitage mansion and museum to explore President
Andrew 1800s home and tomb before heading back toward downtown for a Tennessee
whiskey nightcap at the recently revived pre-Prohibition Green Brier Distillery.
