There are a lot of glassblowers in
this area because of schools like
Pilchuck, which is an amazing
glass school. The actual caliber of
glassblowers is much higher than
what we use them for. We have
them [part-time], and then they go
off and do their art. We give them
full benefits for 29 hours. We
have about 90 glassblowers here.

Why is charitable giving part of your
When I was in chemotherapy, I
was seeing that there were a lot of
people who have what I had.
They have folks there to help
them. And when they left chemotherapy, they have bus fare
or money for parking. Mostly, we
give [the funds] to people who are
going through treatment and
pay for their parking or daycare
or other needs, but partners
with all kinds of organizations. At
the Seattle airport, partnered
with an organization that flies
people around to get their treatment. We really like our 10 percent
to go to things that help people
heal and feel better.
