A self-described James Chen launched Clearly
in April 2016 to economical, innovative ways to help the 2.5 billion
people worldwide with poor vision and no means of improving it. Chen
calls untreated vision impairment the chief unaddressed disability in the
world. Clearly grew out of the expertise Chen honed during previous
ventures: Adlens, an adjustable-focus eyewear company, and Vision for
a Nation, a charity providing primary eye care and affordable glasses
in Rwanda. global vision his life: Born in Asia, raised
in Africa and educated in Europe and the United States, he is now
chairman of a manufacturing business in Nigeria.

chen: Clearly is an ongoing campaign. We seek to be a catalyst
toward getting to understand the
scale of the issue of poor
and also to discover solutions. My
team and I truly believe we can
solve this problem in our lifetimes.
