Mountains Peak in Popularity
Cabin fever hit Norway during this past tourist season. The 43 cabins run
by the Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT) hosted almost 7,000 more overnight
guests than it did during the summer of 2013. Nearly 70,000 campers stayed
overnight. Popular areas for visitors included the Trollheimen mountain range and the
Jostedalsbreen glacier. These sites have seen not only higher numbers of international
tourists, but also more Norwegians exploring different regions of their own country.
